These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Icebox ("the Service"), an SMS/MMS-based dinner assistant operated by Icebox Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By texting our number and using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Icebox is a text message-based assistant that helps you manage your pantry inventory and get dinner recipe suggestions. You interact with it entirely over SMS and MMS — no app download or account creation required. You can send photos of your fridge or pantry, describe what you have on hand, set dietary preferences, and receive dinner suggestions.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you should have parental permission. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Your phone number is your identifier — there are no accounts, usernames, or passwords. Anyone who sends a message from your phone number will be treated as you. If multiple people share a phone or a household, be aware that all messages from that number are associated with the same profile.
Multiple users can interact with the same Icebox number (for example, members of the same household using different phones). Each phone number is treated as a separate user profile.
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose — managing your household pantry and getting meal ideas. You agree not to:
We reserve the right to stop providing the Service to any phone number at our discretion, particularly if these Terms are violated.
When you send photos or text messages to Icebox, you grant us a limited license to process that content to provide the Service. Specifically, food photos you send are analyzed by AI to identify items — we do not use your photos for advertising or sell them to third parties.
You are responsible for what you send. Do not send photos of people, minors, private documents, or anything unrelated to the Service's intended purpose.
Icebox uses the Claude API, provided by Anthropic, to process photos and generate responses. This means your messages and photos are processed by a third-party AI service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how this works.
Recipe suggestions and pantry interpretations are generated by AI and may occasionally be inaccurate. Always use your own judgment about food safety, expiration dates, and allergens. We are not responsible for any adverse outcomes from following recipe suggestions, including food safety issues or allergic reactions. If you or someone in your household has a serious food allergy, do not rely solely on Icebox to manage allergen safety.

By using the Service, you consent to receive these automated messages at the phone number you use to contact us. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You can re-enable the Service by replying START.
Icebox does not charge you directly for the Service at this time, and does not process any payments or financial transactions. Carrier SMS/MMS rates set by your mobile provider may apply — we have no control over those charges.
We aim to keep Icebox reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, carrier issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any inconvenience caused by downtime.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that AI-generated suggestions will be accurate or complete, or that the Service will meet your specific needs.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Icebox Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Icebox Labs LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by sending a text message to your number, or by posting updated Terms accessible via a link we send you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You can stop using the Service at any time by replying STOP. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.
Upon termination, you may request deletion of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Washington.
